Local Foundations and Charities

Twice annually all of the IGY Marinas join together with owners, captains and crew to support local communities. Our goal is to get people off the boats and into the communities where we operate to support local charities and nonprofit organizations. Here are some of the local organizations that we have assisted:

Nature Foundation St. Maarten
The Nature Foundation St. Maarten work towards educating the youth on conservation issues and promoting environmental awareness in the community to stop environmental pollution, protect the environment and reduce single-use plastics. Also, they help to protect and enhance wildlife and marine life species on St. Maarten. To donate directly to the Nature Foundation St. Maarten click here.

St. Maarten Animal Welfare Foundation
The Animal Welfare Foundation has, since 1996, operated: an Animal Ambulance whose volunteers respond to emergencies and taxi for free residents’ pets to local vets for residents without transportation. The team also treats mange in the community and collects unwanted animals for adoption.

Kidz At Sea
Kids at Sea was founded in 2012 with the idea: Build the boat - row the boat - sail the boat. Using the slogan "Build your Future". Its core goal is the encourage local St. Maarten youth to enter the maritime industry professionally.

Carib Swim Team
